Oh no, the first day of winter is only two days away. Although that sounds bad, it really isn't all that bad, especially considering the forecast high for Saturday is close to 60! Get your riding gear ready boys and put the trainer back in the corner. I remember the first day of fall this season was close to 90, so who knows anymore. The other good thing about it being the first day of winter is that everyday afterwards gets more daylight. Only 90 or so days till spring, which unfortunately doesn't necessarily mean warm weather, but it does mean summer will be closer.

To bad for all those people who were dreaming of a white Christmas because our healthy snowfall we received last week is quickly disappearing. They do have one more chance though because as great as Saturday is suppose to be there is a chance of snow early on and into the day on Sunday with a forecast high of 33. Brrrrrr.

At least someone around here really enjoys the snow. Today was barely ridable outside, but luckily enough hard man Guy East is finally back home and he and I sloshed through some k's together. Hopefully the same tomorrow with a little less sloshing.

Just as the first snowfall had all melted and the riding was getting good. WHAM! You are reminded you live in the midwest.




The road is out there somewhere. The funny thing about the situation is when they don't plow Lucy really doesn't know where the grass is or even care as she peed on the sidewalk and left an early Christmas present in the middle of the parking lot.

Ugh. Rollers.

For anyone who this would bother, don't worry I picked up after my dog. Don't freak out.

Who would think that this guy could ever do something illegal? Just goes to show you that you can't judge a book by its cover. Or can you? Does any of this sound familiar to you all. About time people start talking about other sports having high drug problems other then cycling. I hope they throw the book at them and give them a one of baseball's biggest suspensions of 15 games. That will show them. HA! What a joke.

Worst possible weather. Ok well maybe not, but this picture was taking before the misery began. It all started off nice with mild temps in the 40's before the sprinkles came and then the down fall of the rain and temp hovering just above freezing. Soaked in 10 minutes with an aquarium in your shoes, just another beautiful day in a cyclists life. The good news on the day though was that we did get a nice ride in, we got an awesome home cooked meal from Bennett's family, one less day spent on the rollers and whats better then hanging with the boys.

Well after quite sometime it is now official and not a better day to become an official resident of Indiana then the day before your Michigan driver's license expires. That is the way I roll I guess. Procrastination at it's best.



To my suspicion however I did have to pass a fifty multiple question driving exam. I have to say I was a bit nervous as how embarrassing that would have be to fail a simple writing driving exam after passing a similar test a few years earlier and with the experience I have gained with my time on the road. You could miss up to 6, but only two of the signs questions. I only missed one, and the one I missed was: What is the legal speed limit on a Rural divided highway? My answer 55. Correct answer 60. I guess the divided highway between Avon and Danville Indiana isn't rural enough as to the speed limit is only 55.

So after that I took a walk through the woods and sludging through the snow with Lucy. I'm pretty sure she loved it as she never stopped running. She's pretty funny as she doesn't run far from me at all, but all the forwards, backwards and side to side she goes she probably ran 10 miles instead of the 4 we did.

Now its time for some bike practice.

After I made a delicious breakfast of oatmeal/peanut butter pancakes and some tators, Bennett dragged David, Paddy and I out for a ride in some awesome freezing rain. It started as snow, but changed over to freezing rain and it wasn't long before our bikes were completely covered in ice.



No shifting after a half hour as all gears, chainrings and cables were frozen.



Us northerns know all to well about this experience. Paddy's helmet was even frozen to his hat. Poor, Poor Aussie going through his first true winter and it's only the first of December. And for all of those who may not know, or may have forgotting.... BRIDGES FREEZE BEFORE ROAD WAY! Those signs aren't just there for decoration. Be careful out there.
