Swain is Back

Swain is back to Indy and back to riding. Just in time as well. Nothing is better this time of year then cruising the back dirt roads in the area on our road bikes. Like he said as well nobody is as stupid as him to do that with me, so it is nice to have him along for that.

We did a doosy of a ride yesterday out in the country. We did a good stretch of 30km without hitting a paved rode. It was awesome. Expect for the roads that were more gravel, then dirt, but what are you going to do when you can only go left or right and it's much of the same either way.

Next week we are going to do a recon ride of the Breezer Hilly Hundred to make sure every road is ridable and is passable. Should be fun. I'll probably take some video/pictures to get everyone amped up.

I may or may not have some good news to report in the coming week or two. Which means I may be excited.

Time to go watch MNF with my father in law.

The time is approaching. No messing around this time. I want this years Breezer's True Hilly Hundred to be a complete success. I figured the best way to do this, is to do it either the weekend before the really Hilly Hundred or the weekend after. The plan would be to have it on the Saturday, but save the date after as a possible bad weather date. Any one interested? Let's get some plans laid down so it happens successfully this year. I guarentee you will have a good time. Remember it's not a race and nobody will be left behind. It's just going to be a fun group ride in the country side.

I wonder if racing in the rain, at times over 150mph faster, is any more fun. I some how doubt it.

It's Game Time.

Maybe the 75th year will be the lucky year for the Lions to make it to the SuperBowl. They looked good in preseason, but that counts for nothing. No matter how many games you winn or loose in the preseason everyone gets to start the season 0-0.

Besides it seemed like every time the starters got a few good plays in they would pull them. I know they get pulled early in preseason, but I'm pretty sure the starters played way less then any others. I believe they were trying to go out on top while they could. Like when a soon to be hall of famer retires while playing just as good as ever, that is of course till they decide to come back. Let's just hope that they don't come out like that someone that is past their prime. I am getting tired of rooting for a loosing team and having to explain it all the time.

"Forward down the field. A Lions team that will not yield. And when the blue and silver wave stand and cheer the brave 'RAH!, RAH!, RAH!' Go hard and win the game, with honor you will keep your fame. Down the field a gain. A Lions victory! Go Lions!"

Season over? But it's only September 1st. It seems to be earlier and earlier. I may race next weekend but that is up in the air.

Currently just driving back from Greenville. Race was going perfect and I was feeling good going into the last accent up Paris Mountain. That was until I ended up going over the top of a pile of riders who crashed right in front of me at the base of the climb. However I got up checked the bike and started to chase. I thought if I could stay in the cars I'd have a fighting chance. I was doing it until halfway up when like a punch to my stomach my front tire lost all it's air. Game over. See you next time. That's bike racing for you.

Let the most nerve racking part of the year begin!
